Lighting that aids in specific tasks, such as under-cabinet lighting, is often overlooked but is crucial. Shadows from overhead lighting can cast under cabinets, making counter prep work challenging and potentially hazardous if your finger misses the knife blade. Integrating lighting into your cabinet design creates a seamless look.
Another area where task lighting is frequently overlooked is over the sink. I can’t count the number of times I’ve spoken to acquaintances who, after remodeling their kitchen, end up having to bring in electricians to install a light over the sink.
